Andrew Johnson

Profile
England striker Johnson became Everton's record signing when he arrived at Goodison Park from Crystal Palace for £8.6million in May 2006. Johnson's goals on the Eagles' return to the top flight for the 2004/05 campaign earned him a call-up to the England squad and he made his debut against Holland in February 2005. His exploits the previous season, when he was top scorer in the entire Football League with 28 goals and 32 in all competitions, were invaluable to Palace's promotion cause. The former Birmingham trainee was a regular as Blues reached the 2001 League Cup final, and helped them into the Premiership in 2002 before joining ex-City coach Trevor Francis at Selhurst Park. Comfortable both in the air and on the ground.
