Talented youngster with a bright future in the game, came through City's Academy before starring for the reserve side. He has since established himself as a important player in Stuart Pearce's first team. The attacking midfielder signed a contract extension in April 2007 to keep him at Eastlands until 2011. After representing the Republic of Ireland at youth level, he made his senior debut in a 3-0 win over Sweden in March 2006. His composure and incisive passing quickly made an impact on the international stage, where he scored three goals in his first four caps. His strike against Wales in March 2007 earned him the honour of becoming the first footballer to score at Croke Park, Dublin.
