Profile
Reliable goalkeeper signed from Bradford City in 1997 and established himself as Boro's number one. In 2005 his penalty save on the last day of the season from Manchester City's Robbie Fowler ensured Boro finished seventh and earned a place in Europe. Tall, authorative and commanding, Schwarzer is regarded as one of the leading keepers in the Premier League. In May 2008 he moved to Fulham turning down offers from Bayern Munich and Juventus.
