Profile

The pacey former France Under-21 striker joined Middlesbrough from Arsenal for an initial £2million in June 2007. Deadly in the box, Aliadiere scored nine goals in Arsenal's FA Youth Cup-winning side of 2001, matching a record set by Michael Owen. He made his Premier League debut against Fulham in February 2002 - replacing Thierry Henry in a 4-1 victory and scored his first goal in the 5-2 win over West Bromwich Albion in August 2003. Injuries limited his first-team opportunities with the Gunners and he was sent out on loan to Celtic, West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers in order to get first-team football. After a spell back with Arsenal in the 2006/07 season, he was snapped up by Boro.
