Since starting with Leeds United's academy in 2002 he has struggled to find first team status despite transfers to various clubs including Liverpool, Charlton Athletic and Aston Villa. His International career however shows great promise with 29 caps at under-21 level and a handful of appearances for the senior team. Signed for West Bromwich Albion in July 2008 and recalled for England's 2010 world cup qualifiers.
