The Brazilian international made his name at PSV Eindhoven where in his first season he helped them gain the semi finals in the Champions League. Known for his trademark throwing ability Gomes holds the record for the highest percentage of clean sheets in the Eredivise which culminated in PSV winning the 2006/2007 title on goal difference alone. His form appears to have faltered since joining Tottenham Hotspur in 2008 who suffered their worse start to the season in the clubs history.
